  • Nationality: Only individuals holding Indian citizenship are eligible for appointment or employment under these regulations, unless expressly authorized in writing by the Central Government. Notwithstanding, individuals from Nepal or Bhutan may also be considered for appointment, enrollment, or employment in accordance with these regulations.
  • Gender: Both male and female aspirants are qualified for the Assistant Commandants position.
  • Age Requirements:
    Applicants must be a minimum of 20 years old and a maximum of 25 years old as of August 1, 2024. This necessitates that they were born between August 2, 1999, and August 1, 2004.
    The upper age limit may be relaxed in the following manner:
  • Up to five years for candidates affiliated with Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes.
  • Up to three years for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible for reservation.
  • Up to five years for Civilian Central Government Servants as per prevailing government directives. Ex-Servicemen can also avail themselves of this relaxation. Nevertheless, the cumulative relaxation due to Government Service cannot surpass five years.
