SSC CHSL Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for positions in the SSC CHSL Exam 2024 need to meet specific educational qualifications by 1st August 2024. To qualify for roles such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ (excluding certain DEOs in designated Departments/Ministries), candidates must have completed the 12th Standard or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University. Moreover, individuals aiming to become Data Entry Operators (DEOs)/DEO Grade ‘A’ within the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and the Ministry of Culture must have passed the 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or its equivalent.

Aspiring applicants should be between 18 to 27 years old, indicating that those born between 02-08-1997 and 01-08-2006 fall within the acceptable age range. Furthermore, exceptions to the upper age limit are possible based on the current regulatory frameworks.

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) are positioned at Pay Matrix Level-2, receiving a basic pay of Rs. 19,900, which escalates to Rs. 37,845 in metro cities.
  • Data Entry Operators (DEO) fall under Pay Matrix Level-5, with a basic pay of Rs. 29,200, leading to a total salary of Rs. 57,960 in metro cities.
  • Data Entry Operator Grade A falls under Pay Matrix Level-4, offering a basic pay of Rs. 25,500, which increases to Rs. 51,300 when posted in metro cities.
